Buying a classic muscle car can be confusing, and sometime you may feel like the right car for doesn’t exist. I don’t know if you have ever heard the old saying; there is a seat for every ass. This is a true saying, although just the right seat for your ass may be difficult to find.

When buying a classic muscle car you need to first know exactly what it is your looking for. If you don’t know exactly what you want, and your always changing you mind you may need to make a list of the cars that you like, and the options that you must have.

The cars that you like should be a fairly easy one to figure out, just consider you top three favorite muscle cars of all times and got from there. It doesn’t matter if they are Fords, Chevrolet’s, or Mopar products, that is not the hard part.

The hard part will be locating a car with the exact options that you must have that is in decent condition. If you plan to restore that car to factory condition or better, this adds another level of difficulty to your muscle car search.

If this is the case you need to look for cars that have matching numbers on them. If you plan to customize your car it may not be that important to your process to look for a matching numbers car. If you plan to sell the car at some point matching numbers will get you more money, if you can prove that that they are matching numbers.

It all boils down to a decision on your part, and the decision is do I plan to sell the car, or do I want a custom hot rod that I plan to pass down through the generations in my family. It’s true that right cars do not lose value.

Tips & Hints For People Who Plan A Factory Restoration

Make sure that the numbers all match on the car.

Start with a car the is in good condition to begin with.

Look at a lot of cars, do not make a quick decision.

Learn about the car that you want to restore, knowledge is power.

Deal with reputable dealers, or private sellers.

Always ask for references, if they don’t want to give you references look for another car.

If you plan to do the restoration work on the car yourself, make sure that you don’t buy a car that is out of your skill set, by this I mean don’t buy a car that is full of rust if you have never fixed rust before.

If your buying from a dealer check them out with the BBB in the area where your buying the car; you should also check them out through the chamber of commerce in the are that they are located.

You can never be to careful when you buy a classic muscle car, or any classic car.

Below you will find tips on buying a classic muscle car that you plan to resto-mod or customize. Here the numbers matching is not the key thing, although it can never hurt. People will charger more for a numbers matching car.

Buying a classic muscle car is a big undertaking, and your should always be prepared for anything that could happen.

Tips & Hints For Those Who Plan To Build A Hot Rod Or Custom Car

You have got to remember that a lot of the tips are going to be the same.

Start with a car the is in good condition to begin with, don’t worry about spending a bit more money at the first, there is no such a thing as a good classic muscle car for $2,500.00 to begin with. You should start with about $10,000 to start.

Again if your plan to restore that car yourself; do not buy a car that is beyond your skill set.

Learn about the car that you want to restore, knowledge is power.

Deal with reputable dealers, or private sellers.

Always ask for references, if they won’t give you any it’s time to shop elsewhere.

Always check out any business that you plan to buy a classic car, or classic muscle car from.

Don’t buy the first car you find, there are always more choices.

Well guys and girls I hope this helps you, that is about all I have on this subject.

I’ve been thinking a lot about why things are the way that they are in this country, and I have come to a conclusion.

People are idiots, they spend their time whining about what needs to change in this country, but spend no time thinking about why it needs to change.

If your the cause of the problem, then it may be you that needs to change; it could be that the people need a tune up; it’s the people that need to care, not the people that you blame for the problem.

Here’s a for instance for you; our country is suffering monetary losses right now, this is directly due to the fact that some idiot started the notion that nothing built in America is a quality product.

I got two words for you; my ass, America builds the highest quality products on the market; have you stopped to consider that it may not be the government that is causing all the problems, some of it may lay up on you.

Yes the government does have a lot to do with what happens in our country, but you cannot lay all the blame on them; if you only buy products that are built in some other country, such as Japan, or Germany, then you are helping cause the problem.

It bothers me not that you read some consumer magazine that claims to run a fair tests on the products, I don’t care how you have come to the conclusion that America is inferior; you have come to the wrong conclusion, and in the end you will pay, but so will I and ebery other American.

It doesn’t take a professor to understand that what I have said in this article is the truth; as Americans we have dropped the ball, made a fumble, for at least 20 years.

Isn’t it about time that somebody picked up the ball and ran with it; I know that the end zone is a long ways away, and it will take some hard work to get there.

If we all just try a little harder to do what we know that we should do, things will begin to change for the better, there will be more jobs, and new companies starting up, that can actually stay in business.

I was recently asked how to decode a Yenko Camaro vin tag, and the honest truth is that it’s no different from any other Camaro vin tag, Yenko Chevrolet modifies the Camaros at their dealerships so you see, a Yenko Super Camaro would have a regular Camaro vin code such as 124379N345145.

By the vin you would know that the car was a Chevrolet indicated by the number “1” and that it was a Camaro indicated by the number “2” and that it was a two door coupe indicated by the number “37” and that it’s a 1969 Model indicated by the “9”; that it was built in Norwood California indicated by the “N” and anything after the “N” is the line number or serial number id you prefer this would tell you that this particular car was the 345,145 TH car built in 1969.

All Camaro vin numbers are pretty standard like this in an effort to make them easy to decode; now to find out if it’s a Yenko Camaro that your looking at, you could look at the RPO code located on the passenger side of the engine on a machined pad just in front of the head.

Just as a warning these numbers have been known to be re-stamped to say that their something that their not, so this is where you need to be careful and match this number to the block casting number located at the back of the engine on the driver side, on the bell housing flange, and this number cannot be re-stamped, so of the RPO code does not match this number, I would not buy the car.

I have spent a lot of time studying how the vin codes, and the RPO codes, and casting numbers all work together to tell you what the car is, and what it should be, and if you look at these codes, and make sure that is your looking for a factory Camaro, or a special Camaro like a Yenko Camaro, that you pay close absolute attention to what these numbers are telling you, you probably will not get ripped off on your purchase, don’t second guess these numbers as you match them up, if they tell you that it’s not a real Yenko, then it’s not.

The Yenko Camaros had a factory horsepower rating of 425 HP, and if those numbers don’t tell you that it’s a 425 HP 427 CID engine, then it’s best that you steer in the opposite direction of this purchase, make sure that these numbers tell you that it had the right transmission in it, the Yenko Camaros were all sold with a standard transmission, and it was a Muncie M-22 rock crusher, if the numbers on the car don’t tell you that this is what’s in the car, don’t buy it.
